International Conference on ‘People Connect: Networking for Sustainable Development’ on November 10, 2017.

St Claret College organized a one-day international conference on ‘People Connect: Networking for Sustainable Development’ on November 10, 2017. Dr. Monica Forret, Director of Business Administration Program at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, USA was the Chief Guest and the Keynote Speaker. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Monica outlined the major researches done in the past on Networking, especially in relation to careers. She also drew the attention of the audience to the ‘darker’ side of Networking. Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. Sabu George, Principal, St. Claret College, opined that “Information becomes knowledge only when it helps people to communicate and participate, and enables them to make informed choices - paving the way for a knowledge-based networking.”

The Conference also included a Panel Discussion on various sub-themes of the Conference such as ‘Business Networking’, ‘Role of Tourism in Connecting People with Businesses’, ‘English as Networking Language’, ‘Impact of Social Media on Small and Medium Enterprises’, ‘ Role of Social Media in Driving the Economy’, ‘Use of Social Networking Technology in Higher Education and Placements’ etc. The eminent speakers of the day included Rev. Fr Benny Mathew, Principal, Anthony Claret School; Mr B. Ramaswamy, Chairman, Indo - Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Ms Mariam Mathew, CEO, Prometheus Centre for Human Resource Management; Mr Lucas Bianchi, Co-founder, Namasthe Credit; Dr. Supriti Mishra, Associate Professor, International Management Institute, Bhubhaneshwar; Dr. Velmurugan P.S., Professor, Central University of Tamil Nadu; Ms. Giulia Ottaviano, Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Abhilash Thomas, Chief Mentor, Vibrant Viva; Mr Sanketh Garimella, Senior Executive, Linkedin and Mr. K.P. Rao, Member, Quality Council of India. The Conference was attended by over 150 delegates from across the globe.
