Department of humanities organized National-level Conference on Women Empowerment on March 7, 2018. Women empowerment and women equality are highly contextual and complex issues which are two sides of the same coin, said Dr. Jija Madhavan Harisingh, former DGP, while inaugurating a NABARD sponsored national conference ‘A Multi Dimensional Approach on Women Empowerment: Voice and Visibility’ at St. Claret College, Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Business-Talk on “HR Processes & Systems” – March 3, 2018.

PG Department of Commerce organized a B-talk on “HR Processes & Systems” for M.Com and B.Com students on March 3, 2018. The Resource person was Mr. Purushotham S Bhadri, Assistant HR Manager from Recipharm, Pharmaservices Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. The speaker gave insights on HR functions, concepts, appraisal techniques, scope of artificial intelligence and the overall skills required for students to excel in the competitive world. The students also got benefited with the interactive session held on various practical HR processes.

One Day Seminar on ‘Skill Development’ – March 2, 2018.

One Day Seminar on ‘Skill Development’ was organised by IQAC and RPC of St. Claret College in association with Skill Development Corporation, Govt. of Karnataka on March 2, 2018.Mr.Muralidhar Halappa, Chairman, Skill Development Corporation, and Govt. of Karnataka was the chief guest for the seminar.

 

Industrial Visit to RBI – February 21, 2018.

The PG Department of Commerce and Department of Commerce jointly organized an Industrial Visit to ‘Reserve Bank of India’, Bangalore for I M.Com and final year B.Com students on February 21, 2018. There was two session arranged for the students, where Mr. Praveen, the Assistant General Manager of RBI and the head of Financial Literacy Department of RBI had briefed about the different bank terminologies, concepts, functions of RBI and financial inclusion schemes. The students got a practical insight of RBI.

 

Star Sharan shines at the cultural fest of St. Claret College

Renowned Sandalwood actor Sharan inaugurated the two-day national level inter-collegiate cultural fest Mayurika 2018 at St. Claret College on 23.02.2018. He nostalgically recalled how he became a star of his school during a cultural programme when he acted in a drama called ‘Empty Mind’. He explained how that event helped him to discover the star within him.

Rev. Dr. Sabu George, the Principal of St. Claret College, while addressing the gathering said that Mayurika is 10-year old, and this year’s Mayurika is a leap into the national level, with participants from other states as well. Addressing the media, Rev. Fr. Vineeth George, the Vice Principal highlighted that Mayurika is part of the college’s endeavor to promote the cultural identity of our nation and state.
Over the years, Mayurika has been serving as a grand forum for cultural exchange among the students.

Students from about 100 colleges will be participating in the 30 different events constituting Mayurika 2018.

The special highlights of Mayurika 2018 are a road show by Friendly Superbikers of Bangalore and DJ evening by DJ Bose. Mr. Narasimha Jalahalli from the Kannada Film industry; Rev. Fr. Benny Mathew, the Manager; Rev. Fr. Joseph Mathew, the Administrator; Rev. Fr. Joshi Xavier, Principal of St Claret School and Mayurika’s Co-ordinators Chaitra, Vasu, and Nice were present at the inauguration of Mayurika 2018. The Title sponsor of Mayurika 2018 is Bhat’s Coaching Classes and the Gold sponsors are Bradford Aviation Academy and South Indian Bank.
