The Department of Languages was established in the year 2015 and since then it has grown leaps and bounds, playing a prominent role in the overall development of the College. It is an umbrella department for the varied languages that are taught at St. Claret College. The languages comprise of Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and Sanskrit.
It is true that quite a few students in colleges have lost grip on their native tongue, making it difficult for them in their daily life. With a compulsory language course in the 1st and 2nd year of under-graduate studies, Language Department occupies a central role in bridging this gap. The Department is home to experienced and dedicated faculty who are committed to hone the language skills of the students and make them better equipped for the challenges of tomorrow. With the faculty taking up the role of a guide and a mentor, we ensure that knowledge sharing is not confined within the four walls of a classroom.
Alongside academics, the Department organises a number of programmes and events that work to enrich the intellect of students. Several seminars, conferences, guest lectures, workshops and add-on programmes are initiated by the Department so as to nurture the ward beyond pedantic learning. We take up the mantle of holistic learning and development with pride.
