St. Claret College, in association with Rashtriya Santa Kavi Kanakadasa Research Center conducted a two- day workshop on the life and works of Saint Kanakadasa on August 17, 2017. Around 120 students from different colleges took part in this unique workshop. The workshop’s primary objective was to give an awareness on Sant Kanakadasa’s keerthanas, his life style, and the relevance of his teachings in the present world. St. Claret College celebrated the 71st Independence Day on August 15, 2017. Rev. Dr. Sabu George, Principal, unfurled the national flag and spoke to the students of taking the nation on a new track of development and moving ahead with honesty, equality and secularism. A two-day faculty development programme on ‘Institutional Branding through Enhanced Organizational Commitment of Faculty’ was conducted by St. Claret College on August 11- 12, 2017. Dr. Jonas Richard A, Director, CCPD; Dr. Justin Nelson Michael, Director, Centre of Research and Dr. Aloysius Edward, Dean,Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, were the resource persons for the day. The first session on ‘Organisational Commitment’ was a real eye- opener for all the faculty members on how to perceive organizational commitment, role of educational leaders and the challenges faced by them. The next session on ‘Seven Habits of highly Effective Teachers’ touched on the basic paradigms of human interactions, time management matrix and how to build our physical, spiritual, social, and mental quotient. The third session was on ‘Building on the uniqueness of St. Claret College’. Dr. Aloysius Edward gave various strategies to help in building the brand for the institution. The second day touched on topics such as ‘Branding through Holistic education’, ‘Team work in Claret: Transition from Faculty Number to Faculty Member’ and ‘Stress Management for Teachers in Higher education’.
