SCC library is the knowledge hub for our interdisciplinary community. It provides authentic and reliable sources of information for learners, research scholars, faculty and staff from all disciplines.

SCC library is housed on the first floor and has two separate sections for UG and PG. The library has academic resources such as books, magazines, journals, encyclopaedia, databases, e-resources, back volumes, CDs/DVDs, project reports, audio/video cassettes, rare books, question banks, Plagiarism tool- Turnitin and facilities for browsing e-resources. Through the completely automated library management system, users can access the library resources without any hassle. The library provides spacious seating arrangements and serene ambiance for learning. Trained and committed library staff provide adequate support to the academic community.

SPECIAL FEATURES

1. REPROGRAPHICS
Library users have easy access to photocopying facilities, which enable them to reproduce required material from books, journals, newspapers. The photocopiers are housed inside the library for ease of access.

2. INTERNET & LAN FACILITIES
The digital library is equipped with 20 computers connected to the Internet for users to search and browse information on electronic databases, e-journals, e-books as well as audio books & CD/DVD’s. The library is part of the institute-wide network & has adequate computing infrastructure to cater to the needs of the users. The Wi-Fi facility in the reading area continues to attract users to bring their laptops and have seamless access to print & electronic resources.

3. NEW ARRIVAL DISPLAY
New books are shelved on the “New Arrivals” shelves for a limited amount of time in order that library users may have a chance to browse new acquisitions. These new books lists are also displayed on the overheard visual displays.

4. LIBRARY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
SCC Library Committee conducts a Library Orientation Program at the beginning of the academic year for all the first-year students of UG and PG. The students are introduced to the library access, facilities, e-resources, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) Software, knimbus access, borrowing procedure etc.

5. Library Day
The SCC Library committee organizes Library Day on 12 August of every year in the memory of Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, Father of Indian Library Science. The committee conducts various competitions on this day, as a tribute and to bring back the memories of the great personality to the student community.

6. BOOK BANK SCHEME
SCC Library issues text books for SC/ST and students from economically less privileged sections. Application for the same will be issued at the beginning of every academic year.

7. BOOK BANK MEMBERSHIP FOR DIVYANGJAN STUDENTS
To cater to the needs of the Divyangjan students, a special category of Book Bank for Divyangjan students was introduced from the academic year 2018-19 onwards. Books are distributed to those students throughout the academic year.

8. BOOK OF THE WEEK
SCC Library has a special corner for book of the week displays. A chosen book is reviewed by a student and displayed in this section. This is done to inculcate interest in the students' reading habit.

9. STUDENT PROJECTS SECTION
SCC Library has housed student’s project work and maintains a separate area for the display of BA, BCA, BBA, B. Com Travel and Tourism, M. Com and MSW projects. The current students can make use of these projects as a reference.

10. READING ROOM
A special reading room is set up for students and faculty. This area can be used for reading newspapers and general magazines.

11. BROWSING CENTRE
Reading and browsing centre of the library has 20 systems installed with internet facility. Students from UG and PG are allowed to use the system for their academic purpose and e-resources.

12. EBSCO
stands at the forefront as the premier provider of research databases and the management of e-journal and e-book subscriptions.
