A Shared Journey of Faith, Learning, and Mission
In a world marked by division and isolation, Pope Francis continually invited the Church and all people of goodwill to embrace synodality—a way of journeying together in communion, participation, and mission. As he reminds us, “synodality is the path that God expects of the Church of the third millennium.”
It is in this spirit that St. Claret College Autonomous, Bengaluru, India, and the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), San Antonio, Texas, USA, have come together to launch the Synodality Project in 2026. Though separated by continents, cultures, and distinct religious geographies, these two Catholic institutions of higher learning are united by a common faith, shared values, and complementary educational visions. Both are paragons of synodality in action—practicing its core principles through curricula, co-curricular activities, research, and community outreach.
This historic collaboration is not merely an academic partnership; it is a living expression of what it means to be a synodal Church in the modern world. It nurtures intellectually competent, socially conscious, spiritually grounded, and globally responsible individuals who will contribute meaningfully to society and advance the civilization of love and harmony at the heart of the Gospel.
